Jaeyong Bae

Design Engineer based in Seoul. Designs digital products across UX, AI, data and new interfaces – from the drawing to the code to the launch, and then the running of it: deciding what a machine does and where a person decides.

About

Summary

Design engineer who takes a product from research to launch and keeps it running. Two products shipped and operated solo, drawing the line between what runs by itself and where a person checks.

Experience

Reevl, Founder / Product Designer2026 – Present

  • Planned, designed and built a property intelligence platform solo; launched July 2026 – 933 monthly active users
  • Data refresh, publishing and error watching run as n8n workflows – only what needs judgement reaches a person
  • Unreliable sources carry the date they are good for; what is watched is the output, not the success log

Physix AI, Undergraduate Researcher (UX/UI)2026.08 – Present

  • Designed the HMI for remotely driving a patrol robot (industry–academia, Hongik) – dividing what the robot does from what the operator decides
  • 20 screens, 30 components and 220 tokens unified into one system
  • Eye-tracking used to check the design; paper in preparation

Republic of Korea Air Force, Brand Designer, HQ Media Content Division2023.10 – 2025.06

  • Social content, events and promotional goods as the in-house designer of a 60,000-person organisation
  • F-4 retirement goods and "Finding the Phantom" on YouTube, 400,000 views – 2024 group award
  • Checked materials and feel on site instead of printing a logo onto stock items

Selected projects

Kankan, A subway car crowding mini-app2026.05 – 2026.09

When every route app shows the fastest way, Kankan shows the car where you can sit. A Toss mini-app I planned, designed, built, got through review and run on my own.

  • Planned, built and shipped a Toss mini-app solo, at zero running cost
  • Cross-checked public data across two sources – 77 disagreements corrected by hand, 456 verified records bundled statically so no wrong number goes out live

Glide, Motion-sickness relief for autonomous rides2026.04 – 2026.06

A motion-sickness relief system for autonomous cars that warns riders 2–7 seconds before the car moves so their bodies can brace – with one sickness metric implemented identically on a sensor board, a web console and an iOS app.

  • Designed and built a motion-sickness system solo – sickness figure down 77% (simulation)
  • Intervention scaled to severity across 13 steps, from a suggestion to acting and saying so – the trade between time and comfort stays the passenger's
